Life Lately

I've been slacking in the blogging department. We've been busy the past couple of weeks so I don't want to forget to update here.

The week of mine and Tommy's birthday we celebrated with both our families and got a night out just the two of us. We went to Rumi's Kitchen with my family, Novo Cucina with Tommy's parents, and then that Friday we went to Mary Mac's Tea room followed by the Lion King at the Fox. It was a fun-filled week!

Collier came and stayed the night on January 27th and the kiddos had an absolute ball playing together!

Emma is very into her baby dolls and minnie mouse as a baby doll these days. She loves to wrap them up, put diapers on them, move them from chair to chair, etc. It's so cute watching her and it keeps her entertained longer than any other toy in our house.

We helped host a baby shower for our friends, Colin and Meghan. It was at our neighborhood clubhouse and it turned out so great! Nice when no one has to clean their house to host and we had plenty of room. We can't wait to meet baby Bobinski in April!

At the beginning of February I won "Professional of the Year" for my school. It's a huge honor and feels good to be recognized for the work I have put in and continue to put in at Lake Forest. I am really enjoying my new title this year as Math coach and plan to stick with this for a bit.

We went to Lake Rabun with our friends, the Stellings, one weekend. The weather was crappy but we had a great time just enjoying each other's company. It was just what we needed. A change of scenery and quality time with good friends.

My boss gave me free tickets to a hawks game for winning POTY so we took Emma and my parents. Emma LOVED it and we were able to last the whole game. Lots of lights and things to look at for a toddler to be entertained.

Valentines day was spent with my two loves. Tommy made homemade pasta with scallops in a lemon wine sauce. It was delicious!

We went over to my parents for dinner one night becuase we hadn't had everyone together (minus James) in awhile. Always nice to get some time with my family even if it's a bit chaotic.

Slow Saturday mornings with mickey pancakes are a favorite in our house!

On Monday we had the day off for PResidents day so we headed to the zoo with Collier and Bonnie. Even with the spitting rain we had a great time. We got to see just about every animal (the African safari is under construction currently) and I think some of the best animal viewing we have ever had. The lions were all out and active with roars and all. Emma took a 3 hour nap after which was icing on the cake! I was needing to prep for supper club at my house that night so it was a great day off!

The weather is great this week and Emma keeps us laughing! "Come here Cooper" was said about 50 times on our walk yesterday. She loves that dog of hers but also likes to boss him around.

Life Lately

Warning this is gonna be a photo dump but just want to get caught up on January thus far. Can't believe we are in the last week of January already. I thought December went by quickly but I think January has gone faster.

January started out with a New Years celebration with the Reynolds Family and the Hartmans at our house. We made prime rib and ended the night with a fire out back.

On January 1st was the ROSE BOWL! I think it's the best football game I've ever watched. It was just awesome! We went to my friend Carly's new apartment complex to watch. We brought a bunch of apps and had a great evening! Thanks to Coco and Tpop for babysitting so I could actually watch the game. Now it was time to gear up for the National Championship the next week!

I had a bunch of friends come into town for the National Championship so we took full advantage of the festivities in Atlanta. We went to Fan Fare on Sunday afternoon downtown which was a great time. So cool to be in the championship in Atlanta.

Then on Monday (day of the game) school was canceled due to "weather". So I was able to head to meet friends earlier than anticipated. We met at Alex's house before heading to Sidebar in Downtown before the Tabernacle opened. I didn't have a ticket to the game (along with a lot of my friends because $$$$$) so we watched the game at the Tabernacle. DawgDays rented out the place for a UGA watch party. It was such a throwback because I ran into so many people I hadn't seen since college. We had a great time (minus the tv glitching at some very important moments grrrr). Anyway besides the end result it was such a fun day!

That next weekend was MLK weekend and we headed to Cape San Blas, Florida, with all the Maxey crew and Tommy's parents to celebrate Tommy, Tyler and Andrew turning 30 this month. We rented a big house and all stayed there for three nights right on the beach. It was chilly but we enjoyed the down time together. Christy and Andrew live in West Palm and Tyler and Lindsay live in Destin so we never get a lot of down time to just hang with them. Usually when they are in town it's for an event or holiday so it's usually a rushed visit between their time with family. We played games, ate lots of great food, and just enjoyed each other's company. It was a great weekend!

We came home a bit tired (Emma was up in the middle of the night every night there. Girl likes her own crib and room) and went back to work on Tuesday. Well that was it for work that week. We got snow/ice Tuesday night and school was canceled Wednesday-Friday. What a weird week! Emma needed the time home because yet again she was a bit under the weather and needed some mommy r and r.

We enjoyed the down time. It was too cold to really spend any time outside those days!

Lastly this past weekend I surprised Tommy with a 30th birthday celebration at Sweetwater Brewery with a bunch of his friends and family. He was totally surprised and we had a great time! After the brewery some of us went to eat at Grindhouse after. It was nice to get everyone together to celebrate Tommy. (He claims he never gets a birthday since we share the same birthday)

Sunday was just gorgeous! We started with brunch at the Robinsons with Beth/Marsha in town. Then I played tennis that afternoon. I played a 3 set match and it was nice to get out and play especially on a gorgeous day after being in the house for so many days prior. More to come later this week with birthday celebrations for me and Tommy.
