Babies in bathing suits

It's summer so that means pool season. Well pool season is hard with a baby but she's definitely still getting her full of time in a bathing suit looking adorable! She doesn't mind the pool but I try to only go when it's not super sunny because she can't wear sunscreen. Here is Emma in a variety of suits. I can't handle the cuteness!!!

Just love this sweet girl so much!

Emma: 6 weeks

I'm sure no one cares about my weekly posts but I want to remember the little things that change with Emma. She changes so much each week right now!

Sleep: she is sleeping from around nine once she finishes her nightly feeding til between 6-7 am. I've had to wake her up twice the past week at seven but she also had one morning she woke up at 4:30. Naps are not her favorite. She will have awesome naps but then the next day she only wants to be held.

Eating: she is a good eater and it's like clockwork every three hours during the day. She's getting more efficient so feedings aren't as long during the day but she eats between 45-60 minutes before bed. If she has a bottle she eats between 4-5 oz during the day or 6 before bed. I try to give her one bottle a day so she's used to it before I go back to work. I've been able to save a decent amount of milk so far.

Play time: she really likes her activity mat to kick around after she eats. Her favorite thing though is being walked around. More and more she likes to be held so she can look out and look around. She LOVES to be outside.

Milestones: she has smiled at us a few times. I think in the next week it'll be more consistent. She is happy when she is full but definitely tells you when she is tired or hungry. Her alert times are starting to stretch longer.

Tonight she went swimming for the first time and really enjoyed it! She likes her bath so I thought she might like the pool as well. She stayed in the pool about twenty minutes before wanting to get out and then kicked around on the towel for a bit. I think she liked all the noise at the pool from the other patrons around her. She looked darling too! She was exhausted too she took a jice cat nap when we got home before her night feeding so we could eat dinner. Success!

I can't believe how fast these six weeks have gone by. Emma, you are such a joy and we can't imagine life without you. We can't wait to see how much more you continue to change and grow. We love you so much sweet girl!

Fathers Day 2016

This was Tommy's first fathers day and I wanted to make sure he felt special! I woke up and made a new casserole I found. He loves biscuits and gravy so I found a casserole to try. It was decent but I'm not sure it's one I'll make again but it tasted good. I forgot to take a picture of mine but this is the picture from the site I found it from.

I got him his favorite beer which is hard to find so I got my brother to bring some from Athens as well as a key chain for his keys with all of Emma's stats.

Then we just hung out at home. He had Emma during her "play time" so I could jump in the shower. He did a few things in the yard before he headed out to play golf with his dad. Both of them love golf so of all things to enjoy on Father's Day golf it is!

I stayed home (with an ornery child who refused to nap in her bed yesterday so in order to prep for dinner I had to wear her.) I managed to do laundry, prep food, dishes, and tidying up with her on me.

Last night my family (minus the works travelers James and Claire) came over for dinner. We did the grilled chicken, roasted veggies and salad. My sister brought Mac n cheese, my parents brought drinks and an appetizer and nana did the dessert. We had a great night! Dinners aren't quite so relaxing with a 15 month old and a almost 6 week old around. Emma likes to be walked around between the hours of 6-8 therefore we take turns who eats and sits. Collier doesn't sit down! It was entertaining to say the least. Every time collier comes I find out more things I need to put away in order to baby proof my house! It was a great end to the weekend. Love my family!

Hope you all were able to enjoy a weekend with the special men in your life. We missed James and Claire and look forward to having them back later this summer.

Emma: One Month

Emma, how are you one month already?!

Height: 22 inches
Weight: 11 lbs 13 oz
Clothes: 3 month
Diapers: size one

Likes: Emma if you could be held and rocked/walked around 24 hours a day you would be a happy camper. You like your mam pacis but only on your time. You LOVE to be outside so we take you for a nightly walk and if we have a good night I try to walk in the morning before it gets too hot.

Dislikes: like every kid I'm sure she hates the 20 minutes before a meal. When she's upset she does not like when you sit down. She doesn't like when you stop at red lights in the car or being stationary in general in her car seat.

Emma you are such a joy to us all. We love watching how much you change every day. You are such a great sleeper and eater (clearly you little chunk!). We are going on day five of you sleeping from bedtime (just after 9pm) to between 5-6:30. You have really done well catching on to the moms on call schedule. Yesterday we went for your follow up with the cardiologist and we got a clear report! We go to your regular doctor on Monday for your one month check up.

Over the past month you've been to Target, Kroger, Starbucks, Vintage Pizza, a tennis team party, a pool party, to watch daddy play tennis, Murphy candler to take Cooper swimming, the mall, mimi and grandpas house, and to Auntie Bonnie and uncle Brett's house. We have definitely gotten out and about as well as had many wonderful family and friend visitors who bring mommy and daddy dinner (HUGE thank you to all who have done this. What a life saver not having to cook!) we can't wait for all the adventures still to come and to see how much you continue to change. You are our biggest blessing and we love you to the moon and back sweet girl.

Weekend Recap

We had a pretty quiet weekend. Friday night Tommy's cousin brought us dinner and we just relaxed at home. Every night we try to go for a walk because Emma likes the fresh air and it keeps her calm during the witching hour.

Saturday morning we woke up early and got our day started. My best friend from growing up (friends since sixth grade) was moving down to West Palm to move in with her boyfriend Andrew, who is Tommy's best friend, and so they stopped in before driving the moving van down. Andrew's parents came by as well to meet Emma. We all had breakfast and visited for a bit. Andrew hadn't met Emma yet either!

After their visit we went to HIT for tommys tennis match. Emma and I didn't last long because it was too hot for her. She got REAL irritable very quickly. She looked so cute in her tennis dress though!

Saturday afternoon we just tested at home and got our newborn pictures back!
Sweet sleepy angel

Saturday later in the afternoon brad and Elizabeth Mitchler popped in for a few minutes before we headed to see the Hartman's new house. Our friends Andrew and Kyle moved just down the street from us which is so fun! We hung out and ate pizza with them. Tommy helped put their patio furniture together.

Sunday Emma was just off all day. She wasn't in the best mood from the git go. Audrey and Rob turner (Aud is one of my best friends from college who lives in Kabsas City now) came over on their way back in town from a wedding in Athens to visit. It was so nice to spend a few hours together and for them to meet Emma.

My parents also dropped by for a little bit while their house was having an open house.

Ansley and Matt Reynolds dropped off dinner (shrimp fried rice and edamame YUM!) and then we took our nightly walk which ended with us sprinting home in the pouring rain. #parentfail

Today is fortunately off to a better start than yesterday. Emma slept til SIX THIRTY from 9:30 last night. WHAT?! I of course woke up every hour in the night looking at the monitor thinking to myself "she's STILL asleep?!" Hoping this becomes a regular occurrence. She is four weeks tomorrow and one month this Friday so I'll do a one month update later this week!
