Week in review

This past week we've kept ourselves busy! I can't believe we are already halfway through summer. Only four more weeks before I go back to work. This makes me so sad because Emma and I are having so much fun hanging out every day. Savoring all my time I am getting with her. This past week we have dropped to one nap. Some days have gone smoother than others.

Saturday we went to Ada's birthday party and I was too busy chasing Emma to take any pictures. It was cute! That afternoon we decided to go to the Braves game. Emma did great! We figured there aren't many 4pm Saturday games so why not go for it. We have some things we would have done differently. 1) buy a parking pass closer 2) remember the ergo or stroller. I brought lots of snacks and her dinner so she did great until around the 7th inning and she was ready to go. All in all it was great! I hadn't been to the new stadium yet. They've done a great job with the stadium and plus it's way closer to our house.

Sunday we had Collier for the day so Bonnie and Brett could move without a two year old in the way! We went to the park, pool, played at home and they both took amazing naps that afternoon.

Sunday night I had four of my good college friends and their spouses over for a cookout. We did the burgers and dessert and they all brought a side/salad/app to add to the spread. The weather was stunning so we took our spread on the back porch. Here's how I set the table thinking it would be too hot outside.

Monday we went to breakfast with my mom and nana. She is still adjusting to one nap and fell asleep in the car so there's was our nap for the day 🤦🏻‍♀️ later that night Tommy and I played a tennis match followed by dinner at El Rey. Thanks to my in-laws for watching Emma! We won our match. Was fun to play together for the first time in what feels like two years!

Tuesday we tried out Ashford Park for the first time. They have lots of toddler things for her to play with. We had a great time!

We popped in at Ansley's to visit for a bit before trying out story time at the Chamblee library. It was fun for her. They did a mix of music, dancing and story time. We will go back. We ended the day with some pool time!

Wednesday we had our weekly music class and I spent the afternoon prepping for Supper club. I cooked dinner this month but we ate at Ansley's. I made a Greek spread! Greek 7 layer dip to start with watermelon frose, Greek salad and chicken gyros for dinner and baklava bites for dessert. Turned out great!

Everyone doted on sweet Gavin! Love my girlfriends in my supper club. Look forward to our dinners every month. Next month is out at Rumi's Kitchen!

Thursday we started our day meeting my coworkers son Graham. He was born on June 9th. He's adorable!

And spent the rest of the day playing at home

We are on the road to the beach now for the week! Looking forward to some down time with my family and Tommy's family is coming to join us for the afternoon/evening on Monday! We will miss Claire (she's still in Europe for her internship) and Dad (he's flying to SA tonight for Granny's funeral which is Tuesday). Hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Friday Favorites

I haven't linked up for Friday Favorites in too long! Linked up with Andrea, Narci, and Erika today!

Words can't describe how much fun I'm having being at home this Summer with Emma. I was at an IB conference this week (Tues-Thurs) and so she was at camp Mimi this week (thank God for my mom!). Here are some fun moments from this week.

1. I never want to forget that giggle!

2. Love seeing my dad with Emma and Collier. They sure love their BaBa (from Father's Day dinner)

3. Gavin, you are so special because you are my best friend's son. It's hard to describe seeing your best friend (from age 5) become a mom. Such a special time for the Reynolds family!

4. I've been watching House Of Cards when I have time lately.

5. I finished this book last week at the beach. I'm not usually into self-help books but my neighbor invited me to a neighborhood mom book club in July and this is the book they chose. I really liked Brene's writing and had some good take-aways from it.
6. Coffee. Having not had to get myself ready for work in weeks I've needed all the coffee this week! Fortunately the conference I'm at has provided coffee all day every day this week and even gave us this cup at the beginning of the week to feed the need.

7. My friend, Katherine, was here all week until she left for Alaska/Canada for a month before going back to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She came over on Monday to see Emma and had some fun with her on snapchat. Too funny! We are gonna miss her. We don't get to see her nearly enough. She's living the outdoor dream in Jackson.

8. Playdates. This is Emma with her buddy, Thomas, who turns 1 on the 4th of July! Laura is a friend from high school and is in my Supper Club.

9. Love that we have a park in our neighborhood and my FAVORITE is seeing how much Emma loves the swings and slide.

Maxey Wedding

This past weekend we were in Athens celebrating the marriage of Christy Reimann and Andrew Maxey. We had the best time celebrating these two! Christy and I have been friends since 6th grade. Tommy and Andrew have been friends since elementary school. Christy and Andrew went to UGA with me and we are so happy for them to spend their lives together! Just a warning I took a LOT of pictures. We had a wonderful weekend with lots of activities.

Friday morning we had a luncheon at my favorite, The Last Resort, for all the bridesmaids and mothers. The food was fantastic. I got my favorite fried green tomato sandwich with a salad and their vidalia bacon dressing. YUM

After the luncheon a few of us headed to TAME to get our hair blown out for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. The rehearsal was at The Graduate and we then headed to The Georgian for the rehearsal dinner. It was a lovely evening with lots of speeches describing just how great Christy and Andrew are. The Maxeys put on a beautiful night. The food was delicious and the space was perfect for the group.

We went out for a little bit that night after the dinner before calling it a night because we had a long day ahead of us for wedding day!

We had to be at The Graduate to get ready at 8am. I was done with my hair/makeup by 10am so just hung out with the girls while everyone else finished up getting ready. We took pictures on North Campus before heading back to the hotel for the wedding. The ceremony was in a room upstairs with exposed brick and really pretty light fixtures. The reception was all down stairs. They had one room with the buffet and a few tables and the main room had the dance floor, bars, and tables to eat. It was beautifully decorated! Christy picked such simple florals that looked stunning! Christy was a beautiful bride with such a unique dress (it was the color blush). The wedding was such fun and we danced the night away! Hairy Dawg made an appearance as well. Christy and Andrew are in Jamaica now for their honeymoon and I hope they are enjoying the relaxation!
