Friday Favorites

Momfessionals
Linking up with Narci, Andrea and Erika today!

1. Piko Shirts
Displaying
I've been loving these shirts lately and they are having a 40% sale off their already reasonably priced items (promo code FINALSALE) and so I ordered myself some fun summer colors!

2. Supper Club
I didn't remember to take any pictures but Kyle Hartman hosted supper club for this month and it was delicious! She made spinach/feta/turkey burgers, roasted potatoes, and brownies for dessert. It was fantastic but the company was better! I have so enjoyed our suppers each month for the past six months and look forward to it every month. This week was fun because we got to hear about Christy's sister's wedding, Elizabeth's trip to New York and exciting happenings in everyone's lives.

3. Dinner with Alex
La Tavola
My friend, Alex, moved down from New York in December and I have so enjoyed having her back in town. Sometimes life throws you some curve balls and so she and I went to dinner on Tuesday to just catch up and work through some of those curveballs. She works for Bold American and La Tavola is one of their restaurants so we decided to go there and take advantage of her awesome discount. Man the food was fantastic! We were stuffed by the end of dinner. I would HIGHLY recommend going here and on a nice night especially so you can sit on the back patio. It's located in Virginia Highlands which is always a fun area to go out in.

4. Nephews
My brother-in-laws birthday was on Mother's Day so Tommy and I offered to babysit one night this week so they could go out on a date. Wednesday night we were on baby duty! Collier was a doll for us and made it a pretty easy night of babysitting! We always enjoy getting to spend some time with him and get our snuggles in. When we got there he was asleep in his swing and when he woke up he was mesmerized by Tommy cooking dinner. It was adorable! After we I put him to bed, Tommy asked me SO many questions about babies. This is definitely new territory for him and me so I don't know why he thinks I know ANY of the answers!

(poor little buddy gets his 2 month shots today. Praying for him and his momma that they survive. My sister is not good with needles and blood but hopefully she's fine when it's for him and not for her!)

5. Soaking up my last days teaching
So as many of you know, I am no longer going to be teaching next year. I will be at my school but not in the classroom so I only have a few days left teaching (for now. You never know what will happen in the coming years). The month of May is HARD at school. The kids are tired, the teachers are tired, and everyone is looking forward to summer. I am trying my best to keep patience and soak it in. Today is Field day which is always a fun day for the kids but exhausting for the teachers. Thank goodness the weather has held off and it's nice and cool/overcast for the day. Two of my students performed in the school Talent Show last night so I came back to school to watch them. It was so cute and I'm so proud of them for getting up to perform!

Happy Friday! To say I'm looking forward to the weekend is an understatement

Friday Favorites

I'm linking up with Erika, Andrea and Narci for Friday Favorites!

1. Maxi Dresses: anyone who knows me knows my love for a good maxi dress. I have too many to count. I feel the best when I'm wearing a maxi skirt or maxi dress. I bought this one recently and can't wait to wear it to a couples shower we are helping host next weekend!

I got it from yet another one of favorites only places I shop , The LOFT. I have it in Turquoise and a floral pattern from last summer so I knew how it would fit me and so it was an easy decision to buy.

2. This week the SUN has been a favorite of mine. Over the past week or so we have had so much rain that finally the sun has come out. If I had to go through testing week without sun I just don't know if I would make it!

3. This week I am thankful for family living so close and loving on me when I am stressed. My sister, Brett, and Collier had us over for dinner Sunday night. This was one of my FAVORITE days recently because it was a casual dinner where we just got to relax. I helped with bath and bedtime reading with my nephew too which was also a treat. My mom also randomly made us dinner for Tuesday night and left it at my sister's house for me to pick up. Blessed that my family is so loving.

4. On Monday night I had dinner with my 4 best friends from growing up/high school. This is always a favorite when we can get all 5 of us together because Katherine lives in Wyoming. It's between seasons for Jackson Hole right now so she came home for the week. Love getting to spend time with her! We went to our usual dollar sushi joint called Fuji Hana in East Cobb that we used to frequent when we were in High School. Every time she comes into town we always make a trip on Monday/Tuesday night for dollar sushi.

5. A favorite of mine this week is my nail color. I know I mentioned it over the weekend but I really am so happy with it. OPI- don't burst my bubble

(disclaimer those are not my nails. I wish mine looked that nice)

6. A big FAVORITE of mine this week is getting to see all my friends because it's yet another WEDDING weekend! This weekend I am in my friend's, Audrey, wedding. We have a luncheon at the Swan Coach House today, rehearsal at Puritan Mill, rehearsal dinner at the Georgian Terrace hotel, and the wedding at Puritan Mill tomorrow. I can't wait to celebrate Audrey and Rob! Here is a picture from their engagement party. Audrey and I met through our sorority in college. She is one of the most genuine, selfless, and cheerful people I know. I miss her now that she lives in Kansas City but treasure the time we do get to spend together.

7. Anthropologie: I LOVE Anthro so much and they are having a 20% off dresses sale so I just couldn't resist this adorable dress. With the amount of weddings/showers/events we have over the Spring and Summer months I feel I will get a lot of use out of it. I am in LOVE with this dress!

That's it from this week. Looking forward to this weekend and blogging about the wedding later!
