Hartman Wedding Weekend

Two of our closest friends, Andrew and Kyle, got married this weekend. They've been engaged for 18 months so we were so excited the weekend was finally here. Tommy was a groomsman in Andrew's wedding party so we were involved all weekend.

Friday night was the rehearsal dinner. We went to Paul's and it was a wonderful night. Paul's is a very intimate setting which is perfect for a rehearsal dinner. The food was good but the company was better! The speeches about Andrew and Kyle were all wonderful and we so enjoyed getting to celebrate them. After the dinner we hopped over to the Intercontinental for a night cap as that's where all the out-of-town guests were staying. It was a great night to start off the weekend!

Saturday I went to Dry Bar with my friends Ansley and Elizabeth. We got our hair done and then headed to Cathedral of Christ The King for the wedding ceremony. This was my first Catholic wedding. The service was beautiful and the sermon was so personal to Andrew and Kyle. The cathedral is stunning with all of its stained glass windows.

After the ceremony we got on the trolley to drive around atlanta for a little while.

Then we headed to Callanwolde fine arts building for the reception. The building is beautiful. The room with all the tables was decorated so simply and elegant.

Kyle looked beautiful and the reception was a great time. Their band was awesome! Another great wedding in the books. We wish them a lifetime of happiness and love! We are so thankful to have them in our lives.

Audrey's Bach in Nashville

One of my best friends, Audrey, is getting married on April 25th and so we went to Nashville this weekend to celebrate her bachelorette party. I took Friday off so I headed up Thursday night to start the festivities. Thursday night it was just three of us so we got to enjoy a catch up session over Newks takeout and wine at our hotel. It was just what I needed! I miss Audrey so much now that she lives in Kansas City!

Friday morning, we just got up and took our time getting ready because there was a car load of girls arriving around lunch time. We dropped off all our stuff at the house before heading to Tavern for lunch. It was a great spot because we got to sit on their covered porch and enjoy great food and great drinks. After a long lunch and a few more girls arriving, we headed back to the house to hang out and get ready for the night. The last car load arrived around 8:30 and then we headed to dinner at The Local Taco! After some yummy tacos we went out to South for drinks and dancing (it's owned by the same owner as The Ivy in Buckhead). The DJ played great music and we had the best time!!

Saturday was such a fun day filled with lots of Nashville exploring and as usual eating. We started our day off at Urban Grub for brunch. It was such a cool place where we got our own private room that was a round table with a fire out in the middle. Such a great idea and awesome way for all 13 of us to talk to each other.

After brunch we headed to Tootsies on Broadway for an afternoon on the rooftop listening to live music. Tootsies is awesome with live bands on all four floors. It was a beautiful day outside so we headed to the top.

We spent the whole afternoon here enjoying the live country music and beautiful weather before heading back to the house for the lingerie shower and to get ready for another night out on the town.

We had some fun at the house before heading to Sambuca for dinner. I am so thankful for whoever recommended this place for dinner. It was a tapas restaurant with a live band. Such a cool atmosphere with delicious food and drinks and such a fun place for a dinner with a bunch of girls. I wish we had a place like this in Atlanta. I highly recommend you go whenever in Nashville!

From dinner we headed to Acme then Paradise Park. We had a great night filled with lots of laughs, dancing and love. It was so wonderful getting to see so much of Audrey and spend time with my friends from college. I can't wait for the wedding! Nashville was good to us and can't wait to go back!!

Collier James Willi

Collier James Willi
7 lbs 3 oz
20 inches long
2:33pm on March 14, 2015

This sweet boy made me an Aunt yesterday and my parents became grandparents. He is absolutely perfect! I am so proud of my sister and what she went through to bring this beautiful gift into the world. I am so happy he decided to make his debut when I was actually in town. He knew I would have been devastated if I were away on one of my trips so he came between my two trips. Poor Tommy was away this weekend so he will only get to meet his nephew today. My family is over the moon so in love with this precious boy. Congratulations to Bonnie and Brett! I am so happy for you two and I can't wait to see what God has in store for your family now that Collier has joined it. (Collier is the name of the street they first lived on when they got married and James is my brother and my Bompa's name-my mother's father. Very special!)

those cheeks!

Can't handle the cuteness!

I gave this quilt to my sister yesterday. My mother-in-law is a fantastic quilter and I really wanted to give Collier a baby quilt. I picked out the pattern and the fabrics for my mother-in-law to make. It turned out just as I had hoped!

Sweet Collier, I wish you a lifetime of love and laughs. We love you SO much and you have only been around a day. I can't wait to watch you grow into a wonderful man. You are one lucky fella to have my sister as your mommy.
Much love,
Aunt Lisa

Friday Favorites

Momfessionals

Today I am linking up with Narci, Erika, and Andrea today for the first time. I have been following their blogs for a few months now once I found them through Mix and Match Mama and I've loved reading all their posts.

This week has been a crazy week in the world of a 5th grade teacher. So my #1 favorite things this week has been watching Friends on repeat on Netflix to help me decompress at night while grading papers and lesson planning. I have seen every episode so many times but I just love this show so much!

#2  favorite is
Embroidery Library : The Low Price Leader in Embroidery Designs
Ever since I bought my monogram/sewing machine I have found so many great designs that aren't expensive on this website. Today they sent me a 50% off 5 designs for being a frequent shopper so I can't wait to explore and pick a few more out.

#3 Favorite from the past week was one of the breweries I visited on my trip in Asheville that I mentioned yesterday. It was a small brewery with great flavor. I bought some beer to bring back for Tommy to try but we haven't opened it yet.

#4 favorite for this week has been getting to spend some time with Tommy. I was away last weekend for a bachelorette party, he is away this weekend for a bachelor party, I am away next weekend for a bachelorette party, and then the next weekend we have a wedding. It's the craziness of being in your late twenties. All good things but I so cherish the quiet moments I get to spend at home eating dinner and watching tv with my husband and dog, Cooper.

Cheers to the weekend! Looking forward to seeing my family and playing tennis on Sunday afternoon for the first ALTA match of the Spring season.

Asheville bachelorette party

Last weekend I went to Asheville, North Carolina for a bachelorette for my good friend, Kyle. She is marrying one of Tommy's closest friends and old roommate, Andrew, on March 28. There were seven of us girls that made the trip. All the old roommates fiances and wives made the trip. (Meghan, Caroline, and Kyle)

Pretty cool that the boys are so close and we all got to become such great friends over the years. I only met Kyle three years ago but we became fast friends. She is such a genuine and wonderful friend so it great getting to celebrate her all weekend!

We drove up Friday after work and got there around dinner time. Andrew had sent homemade lasagna with Kyle for us for dinner. It was delicious! We stayed in Friday night hanging out at the adorable house we rented. Kyle gave all of this shirt to wear with her picture on it.

We did the lingerie shower that night too. She is honeymoon ready.

Saturday morning we got up, made breakfast and headed into downtown to walk around. Asheville reminds me so much of Athens. There are tons of one-off shops, art galleries and lots of local bars/restaurants. We headed back to the house to grab a quick lunch before our driver picked us up for the day for our brewery tours.

Stop #1 was Wicked Weed Brewery

The Bride

Stop #2 Highland brewing

(Susan, Kim (Kyle's sister), me, Kyle, Caroline, Rachel (Andrew's sister), and Meghan)
Stop #3 Hi Wire Brewing (this was my favorite beer)

Last stop: Burial brewing (2nd favorite)

We had the best driver that day, Gary. I would definitely recommend booking a tour because no one had to drive, you get lots of information about the different breweries, and it was just pure entertainment!

We went back to the house and hung out for a few hours before getting ready for dinner.

We went to Zambra for tapas and drinks. It was fantastic! Definitely a recommendation we so appreciated. It was funny at dinner because we ran into a group of girls from my pledge class on another bachelorette party. Small world.

After dinner we popped across the street for a night cap before heading back to the house for a dance party and more girl time.

It was a wonderful weekend! I was exhausted when I got home. We will be going back to Asheville hopefully soon. Such a fun town to visit!
