The Robinsons: Emma: Six Month Update

SIX Month Update

November 10, 2016 marks 6 months (1/2 a year!) our sweet Emma has been on Earth. I can't believe how fast this past 1/2 year has flown. This past month a lot changed. Emma's little personality is coming out more and more!

Weight: 18 lbs 11 ounces (87th percentile)

Height: 26.2 inches (58th percentile)

Head: 78th percentile

Diapers: just switched last week to size 3

Clothes: Just put away all her six month clothes (except jammies) and got out her 9 month clothes. They are still too big but the arms of her six month clothes were wayyyy too short. She's between a size 1 and 2 in shoes.

Firsts: You started to eat solids (so far you've had: apples, pears, peaches, peas, sweet potato, prunes, bananas, avocado, rice cereal, oatmeal cereal, carrots), sitting up (SO proud of yourself for this one), 1st Halloween, 1st weekend away from Mom and dad was on duty, and sick day from school (today). It was a busy month with lots of changes. You went from liking to sit up with support from us one day, to bending all the way forward the next day, to totally sitting up on your own the next day. You still topple over if you get distracted but you get stronger and stronger every day. You also figured out you can roll to get to things so you have to be watched closely or put in your play pen so you don't roll into something and hurt yourself. Boy we love watching you discover new things!

Likes: All the food she's tried except avocados, peek-a-boo with daddy, long walks with cooper, when cooper gets close enough to let you touch him, sitting in the front of the grocery cart, when anyone makes funny noises in your face, sitting in the bumbo to eat, being given a large open space to roll around on, being read to and playing by other kids your age.

First time wearing shoes. She was fascinated!

Dislikes: avocados, being left alone or where she can't see you (gosh she loves attention), still doesn't like being stationary in her carseat, and that's about all I can think of. Emma you are a very chill baby who rarely gets upset unless you are exhausted and need a nap.

First time sitting in a restaurant high chair. She loved it!

We can't believe you are already half a year old. It seems like since you've been here our life has been going at warp speed. We love seeing you discover new things and figuring out new things. You are so expressive and finally are starting to smile to everyone on demand. If only you knew how happy it made everyone (especially Mimi) when you give them your big ole gummy grin. Your eyes smile just as much as your mouth. It melts me! I can't wait to see what comes in the next month. We can't wait for your first Thanksgiving and to spend time with both sides of our family with you at the beach. Life is good and you make it so much sweeter precious girl.
