Fourth of July-Charleston

Our beach vacation rental was up on the fourth so instead of just driving back to Atlanta we figured why not go see Beth in Charleston since it was on our way home. We got to Mount Pleasant around 11 in the morning then headed to brunch with Danny and Beth. Beth loves brunch food so she took us to one of her usual spots, Charleston Cafe. After brunch, we went back to her house and hung out watching Wimbledon. Tommy and Beth went to the grocery store to get our picnic foods for our beach trip for fireworks. We decided we wanted to watch fireworks on the beach on Isle of Palms. We got to the beach with no traffic around 7. As soon as we sat down the wind started blowing and sand started pelting us! There was a storm making its way inland and brought major wind gusts. Needless to say it wasn't a very relaxing picnic!! The firemen came on trucks down the beach warning people to get off the beach. We took all our stuff back to the car and waited it out. The clouds moved in quickly but never came over us. We finished our picnic by the car then went back out on the beach. It was so pleasant! Wished it had been that way the whole time!! It definitely gave us something to laugh about. The fireworks started around 9:45 and the show was great! We really enjoyed ourselves. Nice to experience something different. I love fireworks on the fourth!

Sunday morning we got up and went to Page's Okra Grill for brunch before hitting the road. Visiting Beth was a great finish to our vacation. It was not fun for Tomny having to go back to work today! Before you know it I'll be back at work too.
